A man stabbed three children as they walked to a daycare center in Zurich on Tuesday, Swiss police said.
Officers were alerted to the incident in the Oerlikon district of Switzerland’s largest city shortly after midday.
Police said the children were heading to the daycare with a woman who works for the facility when the man began stabbing them.
A daycare employee quickly tried to stop the attacker with the help of another man and they held him until the police arrived.
The suspect, who police said was 23 years old and Chinese, was arrested.
Three 5-year-old children were taken to hospitals, one with serious injuries and two others with moderate injuries, police said in a statement.
At this time, police have not given details about a possible motive for the attack.
