Hezbollah confirms the death of its leader Hassan Nasrallah after Israeli attack in Beirut

Israel’s military said Saturday that it killed Hassan Nasrallah, Hezbollah’s leader, in an attack on the Lebanese capital, Beirut, the day before.

Hezbollah shortly after confirmed the death of its leader, who had led the political-paramilitary group for more than three decades.

“His Eminence, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Secretary General of Hezbollah, has joined his great immortal martyr companions, whose path he led for almost thirty years, leading them from victory to victory,” Hezbollah confirmed in a statement.

The Israeli Army said it carried out a precision airstrike while the group’s leadership met at its headquarters in Dahiyeh, south of Beirut.

On the other hand, the Israeli army announced on Saturday the mobilization of more reserve soldiers due to the escalation of tensions with Lebanon. Three reservist battalions were activated after two others were sent to the north of the country earlier in the week to train for a possible ground invasion.

On Saturday morning, the army carried out several attacks on the south of the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and the Bekaa Valley in the east.

Also on Saturday, Hezbollah fired dozens of projectiles into northern and central Israel, as well as into the occupied West Bank.
