Ashanti is officially a mom!
The 43-year-old “Foolish” singer and her 49-year-old husband Nelly recently welcomed their first child, she showed off on social media.
Ashanti posed in Frida Mom disposable underwear, and revealed what life has been like since welcoming her baby boy.
And his name is…Kareem!
“Ashanti and Nelly welcomed their son, Kareem Kencaid Hayes, on July 18, 2024. The proud and happy parents love KK so much!” a rep told PEOPLE.
“Funny how life’s plans don’t always happen on time.. haha. I’ve been ready to be a mom for a long time, but nothing should prepare me for motherhood! This is what postpartum feels like I’m loving those super comfortable @fridamom shorts! I’m so proud of my body that gave me my baby, baby, baby, baby, baby. 😆,” she wrote on social media.

Nelly and Ashanti married on December 27, 2023.
Nelly is already a father to son Cornell III (who goes by Trey), 25, and daughter, Chanelle (who goes by Nana), 30. The rapper also helped raise niece Sydney and nephew Sean after his sister Jackie Donahue passed away from leukemia in March 2005 at the age of 31.
The lyrical couple dated from 2003 to 2013 and got back together in 2023.
