November is National Native American Heritage Month and the Arts + Literature Lab is hosting a Native Art Market to celebrate.
This will be the second year of the Native Art Market, the first year was in 2023. The market will be held on Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.
This market celebrates and supports local and regional indigenous culture and heritage. It is open and free to the public in the first floor galleries, where there will be artist demonstrations throughout the day.
Dakota Mays, co-founder of the market, says she started it to support the community that has always supported them.
“It’s really great to be able to give back in a different way and we’re really looking forward to seeing all the artists who will be here this Saturday, but also sharing their stories and their ways of doing things. It’s also curious.”
Although the main market takes place on Saturdays, workshops are also held on Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.
- Thursday, November 14 – Stamped Jewelry Making from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Arts + Lit Lab.
