WhatsApp has released a new update for its users: now you can add custom filters and backgrounds to video calls.
As a way to bring creativity to video calls, the messaging app updated its features to make virtual, individual and group conversations more dynamic and interactive .
This is how the Meta platform incorporated different filters that allow changing the appearance during these conversations.
New WhatsApp updates
Among the most notable options are the ‘Warm’, ‘Retro TV’ or ‘Cold’ filters, ideal for every user’s taste, according to RPP .
In addition, these include animal effects and sunglasses.
In fact, it was Mark Zuckerberg himself, CEO of Meta, who showed these new features on his WhatsApp Channel, where he used filters with his wife, Priscilla Chan.
Another new feature is personalized virtual backgrounds, for those who choose to change the visible environment during the call.
This way, users will be able to replace their real background with default images that include landscapes, offices or relaxed environments.
To access these new options, simply select the effects icons at the top right of the screen during the video call.
In addition, a third update is the option to share the screen during video calls with audio, which are also displayed visibly as an icon.
