Hairdresser accuses country singer Garth Brooks of sexual assault

LOS ANGELES – American country singer Garth Brooks was accused this Thursday of sexual assault by a hair and makeup artist who claims to have worked for him, CNN reported.

The lawsuit, filed in a California court and to which the channel had access, points out that the events occurred in 2019. The plaintiff also claims that the award-winning performer raped her during a work trip.

The woman alleges that she started working for him in 2017 and that before taking charge of doing his hair and makeup, she was also hired in 1999 as a hairdresser and makeup artist by his then wife, Trisha Yearwood.

Her accusation adds that in addition to the sexual assault, the singer regularly showed her his genitals, talked to her about sex and his sexual fantasies, changed his clothes in front of her and sent her messages of explicit sexual content.

The plaintiff points out that once in 2019 the singer came out of the shower naked, grabbed her hands and brought them to his genitals, as well as that that same year, on a work trip to Los Angeles, he raped her in a hotel room. .

The woman’s lawyers said they were confident that the singer would be “held accountable for his actions.”

“We applaud our client’s courage in pursuing her complaint against Garth Brooks. The complaint filed today demonstrates that sexual predators exist not only in corporate America, Hollywood, and the rap and rock and roll industries, but also in the world of country music,” they told CNN in a statement.

The network noted that it has contacted both Brooks and Yearwood and has not received a response.
