The role of those arrested in Perry’s death, according to the investigation

According to the investigation, at the end of September 2023, Dr. Plasencia learned of Perry’s desire to obtain ketamine. Plasencia contact a Chavez, who used to run a ketamine clinic, to obtain the substance and sell it to Perry.

Between September and October, Palencia and Chavez conspired to sell ketamine to Matthew at inflated prices ($12 bottles were sold for $2,000). Likewise, Plasencia taught Iwamasa how to inject ketamine so he could administer it to Perry outside of professional practice.

In mid-October, Iwamasa also obtained ketamine through Sangha and Fleming. On October 28, 2023, Iwamasa injected Perry with the dose that ended his life. Once the actor’s death became public, Sangha sent a message to Fleming to delete all messages.
