Iran will "pay for it", what Netanyahu said after the attack on Israel

JERUSALEM – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said this Tuesday, after an attack with more than a hundred missiles from Iran, that the Islamic Republic “made a big mistake tonight, and will pay for it.”

Netanyahu’s message, at the beginning of a Government meeting, are his first statements since Iran launched some 180 missiles against the country on Tuesday night, forcing millions of people to seek refuge.

“The regime in Iran does not understand our determination to defend ourselves and our determination to retaliate against our enemies,” the Israeli leader said in a statement.

“We will maintain the rule we established: whoever attacks us, we will attack him,” Netanyahu reiterated.

Likewise, the Israeli president called the attack a “failure,” which he recalled, “was thwarted thanks to Israel’s air defense system,” which managed to intercept most of the missiles and left no victims.

“We are fighting the axis of evil”

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard, for its part, stated that it attacked military targets during the missile bombardment against Israel and that 90% of the projectiles hit their targets.

“We are fighting the axis of evil everywhere, including our heroic soldiers who now operate in southern Lebanon and Gaza,” Netanyahu warned in reference to the ground incursion launched this Tuesday in southern Lebanon.

The same threatening tone was adopted by the Israeli military spokesman, Daniel Hagari, who also said that this attack “will have consequences” and that the Army has plans to act “at the time and place” of their choosing.

This was Iran’s second attack against Israel since it first attacked Israeli territory last April in another series of missile and drone bombings.
