PRAIRIE DU CHIEN, Wis. (AP) The Republican presidential candidate of the United States, former President Donald Trump, launched a list of grievances against Vice President Kamala Harris during an event on Saturday aimed at linking his opponent Democrat with illegal border crossings.
A day after Harris spoke about immigration at the US-Mexico border, Trump brought up the issue in front of a crowd in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He blamed Harris for migrants committing crimes after entering the United States without authorization, claiming that the vice president was responsible for “erasing our border.”
“I am going to free Wisconsin from the massive invasion of migrants,” he asserted. We are going to liberate the country.
Trump hopes frustration over unauthorized immigration will translate into electoral support in his favor in Wisconsin and other politically swing states whose votes are decisive. Trump repeatedly mentioned the event that Harris participated in on Friday in Douglas, Arizona, where he announced an initiative to further restrict asylum applications, beyond Biden’s executive order announced a few months ago. Harris criticized Trump’s handling of the immigration issue at the border during his term and his opposition to a legislative package on the border issue earlier this year, stating that Trump preferred to run away rather than face the problem.
For her part, Harris, at a rally in San Francisco, told her supporters that there were two very different visions for our nation and voters see it every day on the campaign trail.
