MEXICO CITY – With a video that she posted on her Instagram, Marjorie de Sousa surprised her followers by revealing that, a couple of months ago, she decided to undergo surgery to improve her health.

According to Sousa, this surgery was related to several ailments that she had been experiencing for some time, such as migraines, inflammation and respiratory problems, which were attributed to the breast implants that were placed on her years ago.

In her story, she also explained that after a medical check-up, she was offered the option of changing her implants, but she opted for permanent removal, because she no longer felt comfortable with them: “Today I feel happy with my true Marjorie and I love seeing myself as I was before,” she wrote in an emotional message.

For this procedure, she said, she traveled to Barranquilla, Colombia, and spent 16 days in recovery. During that time, she was able to reflect on the changes in her body and health. According to the actress, the symptoms that affected her began to diminish after the surgery, which confirmed that it was the best decision she could have made, so she also encouraged other women to listen to their body’s signals: “If you feel something that makes you feel uncomfortable, you should pay attention to it.”

De Sousa’s decision was not made overnight, but in full awareness; the actress stated that she did research and approached other colleagues who have already had the implantation and was fully informed before entering the operating room: “It is one of the best decisions I have made for my health.”

Marjorie joins a long list of celebrities who have decided to remove their prostheses, including Michelle Reanud, Esmeralda Pimentel, Carmen Aub, Sara Maldonado, among others.
