WWE Smackdown 9/13 Report – Cody Rhodes meets Roman Reigns in battle before the Bloodline

Roman Reigns y Cody Rhodes

WWE Smackdown began with a new introduction, complete with a new song and a new logo. Michael Cole welcomed everyone to the show and sent things out to the ring, where Paul Levesque was introduced.

Levesque said it seems like just yesterday he went face-to-face with The Rock on the first SmackDown, and it’s hard to believe they are where they are now 25 years later. Levesque said there was no better place to be than Seattle, Washington, and there was no better way to start than a match for the Undisputed WWE Champion. Levesque asked the crowd if they were ready and welcomed everyone to SmackDown.

Cody Rhodes retains the Undisputed Championship against Solo Sikoa in a Cage, after the match The Bloodline attacks Cody but Roman Reigns arrives to help.

Michin defeated Piper Niven.

Kevin Owens y Randy Orton derrotan a A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory y Grayson Waller).

Nia Jax makes her entrance. Wearing the WWE Women’s Championship, Nia reminds us that since she returned to the company a year ago, every woman on the roster has learned why she’s unstoppable. She’s become Queen of the Ring and WWE Champion. Every woman in the locker room fears her, and she has reason to be. Earlier, Nick Aldis informed her that she’ll be defending the title at WWE Bad Blood. However, she cares little who her opponent is, because she’ll be annihilated. Bayley bursts onto the scene. “The Role Model” acknowledges that Nia has had the best year of her career, even though her previous level was easy to beat. With that said, she demands a rematch. Nia refuses, reminding her that she doesn’t need a partner to run the division. Bayley points out that it’s because of Tiffany Stratton that she was able to win the title. Tiffany Stratton appears on the scene. Stratton claims that Bayley is just jealous because she holds the Money in the Bank briefcase. Bayley tries to confuse Tiffany. Nia assures her that she won’t get what she wants. Naomi interrupts the segment, stating that she’s ready to fight. She won’t let them attack her friend. Naomi points out that if Nia doesn’t want to put the title on the line against Bayley, she could defend it against her. Jax suggests that they both face her and Stratton next week. If one of them can beat her, she’ll get a shot at the championship. But if Nia and Tiffany win, the defeated woman will have to leave the blue brand.

Andrade defeats Carmelo Hayes, after the match LA Knight appears to tell Andrade that he is the challenger to the United States Championship.

Roman Reigns makes his entrance into the ring. Reigns raises his index finger, accompanied by fireworks. Nick Aldis stands next to him as the fans chant “OTC!” Aldis understands that the night has been chaotic and that they both have a history, but… Roman extends his hand. Nick places the contract on it, but Roman insists. The GM then hands him the microphone. “I don’t want to confuse anyone. Something has changed, but I don’t. I don’t need him (pointing to Nick Aldis). I don’t need contracts (as he throws the one in his hand). This is a family matter. This is a Bloodline matter. I don’t need a partner. I definitely don’t need Cody Rhodes’ help. Let’s get one thing straight. Whether or not he has the family Ula Fala, I am The Tribal Chief! Not only am I The Original Tribal Chief, I am the only Tribal Chief! And don’t let that confuse you. This is my ring. This is my show. This is my WWE!” Cody Rhodes interrupts Roman’s promo. The Undisputed WWE Champion makes his way to the ring. Rhodes asks for a microphone. “Your ring? Your WWE? Well, they were, but not since WrestleMania.” Rhodes throws the mic down. Roman does the same with his. Both men step forward, at which point Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu appear on the entrance ramp.

The distraction allows Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to attack Roman and Cody from behind. However, Roman and Cody quickly turn the tables. Rhodes takes out Loa with a Cody Cutter, while Reigns hits Tama with a uranage. Cody collects his title. Roman walks over to the corner to pick up the contract for the Bad Blood match. Solo orders him to sign it. Reigns signs his signature on it before closing it. Sikoa points at Cody, expecting him to sign it as well. Rhodes lays the title down on the mat and walks over to “The Original Tribal Chief.” Cody extends his hand. Roman notices them and reluctantly decides to hand him the contract. Cody signs it, making their tag team match at Bad Blood official. “He doesn’t like you!” Solo yells at Roman.

Stetho and Cody exchange harsh glances as the show comes to a close BUT NOT BEFORE showing CREDITS mentioning executive producers Paul Levesque and Lee Fitting.
