He September 13, WWE SmackDown took place at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington. This event also marked the season premiere for the blue brand as they make their highly anticipated return to USA Network.
WWE SmackDown opened with Cody Rhodes putting his undisputed world title on the line against Solo Sikoa. To make sure Bloodline stayed out of the situation, they made this match a cage match. Bloodline was already on USA Network this week. when they invaded NXT the September 12th sin Solo Score.
Triple H dio inicio a SmackDown hyping up the Seattle crowd. It was a great way to start the show, and he then immediately asked if the fans were ready for the cage match for the undisputed world title. This question was answered with resounding applause to confirm that the fans were ready to go.
Cody Rhodes came into the match as the clear fan favorite, with the crowd firmly behind him and loudly booing Solo Sikoa.
The action started at a fast pace, with Cody quickly taking control, bouncing Solo off the cage walls. Solo retaliated, however, returning the favor and sending Cody crashing into the steel. A vicious hip attack against the cage added to the damage. The intensity was palpable, with the Seattle crowd so vocal that their chants had to be censored per USA Network standards and practices.
Cody ducked a headbutt from Solo and attempted to climb onto the cage, but Solo stopped him. By this time, Cody was bleeding from his forehead, something that commentary highlighted, and the sight of blood seemed to spur Solo to step up his offense. A brutal powerbomb on the cage followed by Solo’s attempt to stop Cody’s escape led to a thrilling Cody Cutter from the top of the cage, which brought the crowd to its feet for the first 30 commercial-free minutes.
The battle continued and both competitors found themselves on top of the cage simultaneously. Cody, perched on the edge, managed to fend off Solo with a headbutt and a punch before Solo dragged him down, delivering a devastating brainbuster from the top of the cage. The crowd erupted again, forcing the USA Network to bleep out another blast as their chants grew more profane.
As the cage door opened, Cody slapped Solo, but was met with two spinning Solos for a near fall. Cody blocked a Samoan Spike and followed with a Disaster Kick and another Cody Cutter, but Solo narrowly escaped defeat. The exchange continued, with Solo connecting with a hip attack and a Samoan drop before climbing the ropes for a high-flying splash that earned him another near fall.

Cody nearly crawled out of the cage, but Solo pulled him back, only for Cody to counter into a Crossroads for a two count. Not done yet, Cody climbed to the top of the cage and hit a stunning crossbody from the top, sending the arena into hysterics.
In a spectacular finish, Cody hit another Crossroads and ultimately landed the planche to retain the WWE Undisputed Championship. This match served as an exciting start to SmackDown’s debut on the USA Network.

After the match, The Bloodline surrounded the ring and began climbing the cage to get in. Solo then hit Cody with a Samoan Spike. The Bloodline surrounded Cody and began beating him down. This was an assault on an already damaged champion, one that included Jacob Fatu hitting a flipping splash from the top rope. Solo then ordered Jacob to go to the top of the cage, and he did. Suddenly, Roman Reigns’ music hit and he came out. That stopped Jacob in his tracks.
The Original Tribal Chief entered the ring and closed the door behind him. He began to beat down Bloodline, but then Reigns shot him. Just as Solo was about to attack, Roman hit him with a Superman Punch, but Jacob Fatu managed to knock Solo out of the ring before he could spear him. Roman told Jacob to get in the ring next, and he did.
Jacob Fatu closed the door behind him and got very nervous before Solo pulled him out of the cage. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa attacked Roman Reigns in the cage after that, but then Cody Rhodes stood up and helped take care of them. The segment ended with Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns on the same side.
