HOUSTON – Authorities have arrested the man suspected of killing a U.S. military veteran.
The suspect was identified as Kyliel Denzel Arceneaux, 21, who is being charged with aggravated murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and tampering with evidence.
The shooting occurred at an apartment complex for seniors ages 60 and older in the 10680 block of Westbrae Pkwy in the Braeburn area.
The veteran was identified by authorities as 90-year-old Nelson Beckett.

According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 12 noon when a man approached the nonagenarian, stole his belongings and shot him, then stole his car and ran him over.
When authorities arrived at the scene, the man was already dead, although his death was certified at a local hospital some time later.
Further investigation by HPD homicide officers, the South Gessner Patrol Division Crime Suppression Team, the HPD Gang Division, and the Texas Department of Public Safety Criminal Intelligence Division identified Arceneaux as the suspect in this incident.
Arceneaux was arrested Tuesday, later charged and booked into the Harris County Jail.
The car was recovered later in the day at another housing complex ten minutes away from where the tragic incident occurred.
Authorities have not identified the suspect, but describe him as a black man between 25 and 30 years old and are believed to be armed.
Governor Abbott’s office is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the suspect in this case.
